In the 25 years that I have practiced as a psychotherapist in NYC, working with individuals couples and groups, I have come to appreciate that it is the experience of feeling understood that is at the root of well being. When a person feels deeply understood there is an almost immediate positive effect, mitigating feelings of anxiety, depression and other painful symptoms. Once a person feels deeply understood they feel safe to explore more challenging issues.
As a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist, my goal is to help you uncover your more authentic self so that you may regain authorship over your life. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand how the environment of the past influences the present and to resolve these challenges that have come to define you. By applying complementary therapy approaches, we will unearth long-standing patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
